A neck lift is actually a set of procedures used to enhance the appearance of your neck. They can include:
Cervicoplasty - the procedure that removes excess skin
Platysmaplasty - removes or alters the neck muscles
Consider a Neck Lift if you have:
- "Turkey" neck
- Excess fat
- Too much skin
"Turkey Wattle" Neck -- Weakened or Loose Neck Muscles
To correct this, an incision is made under your chin and/or behind your ears to access the platysma (neck muscle) and manipulate it accordingly. Sometimes, even removing some muscle.
Excess Fat -- During a neck lift, with a small incision below the chin, excess fat can be removed by liposuction.
Too much skin -- a incision is made trimming parts of the skin and lifting it into place. It will be secured with tissue glue or stitches.
