Each year Dr. Bunch consults with patients who had surgery elsewhere (even outside of the U.S.) and are unhappy.  These patients have developed complications or problems.  Most will resolve without issue, but in a few cases it may leave a less than desirable result. Although it is possible to fix plastic surgery mistakes, it takes a seasoned surgeon to assess the situation and correct the issues.  The procedures that we most often see that require corrective or secondary surgeries are the body procedures; such as breast surgery, liposuction and  tummy tucks.

BREAST SURGERY

Capsular Contracture - the area around the implant tightens
and squeezes the implant

Bottoming Out - implants that are too low on the chest,
thus making the nipple too high on the breast

Asymmetrical - when the breasts are not the same size

Double bubble - breast tissue sags and the implant stays in place,
creating the appearance of two separate breast

LIPOSUCTION

Unsatisfactory appearance – uneven deposits of excess fat,
irregular or distorted body shape, or a
lumpy appearance

 TUMMY TUCK

The truth is that many surgeons shy away from revising other’s work and most charge substantially more for it.  This type of surgery presents many additional challenges to the surgeon beyond primary plastic surgery.  The degree of difficulty is greatly increased, due to the presence of scar tissue, altered anatomy and often a lack of “material” to work with.  If you are seeking corrective surgery, choose your surgeon carefully.
